disassembling some of the old trucks i had, i wanted much more fearsome looking trucks, i wanted rokkit launchas, and i wanted enclosed driver compartments to hide those tiny gorkamorka drivers!
i cut the base deck in half, turned the rear half around (so the wheels were furthur to the back) and attached the rear half to the end of the top troop carying half. in this way i increased the length of the basic truck by 1/3.
then building from the separating shield plate, i made a box which enclosed the drivers section. cutting a rectangle where a driver would look out which i glued mesh to. i made sure to leave the original front of the driver section in view, as together you can still tell that the truck was made from the old wartruck kit. i put a glyph where the other passenger would look out, added a rokkit launcha to the top of the compartment, as well as a hatch so the driver can get out!
covered it in armour plates and glyphs, and hey presto i had decent looking trucks! each takes about 1-2 hours of modeling -ish to make.
